About

Who we are

NabadNexus is a Somali-led peace and security think-and-do tank advancing peace, resilience, and social cohesion in Somalia and the wider region. We connect research, community knowledge, strategic communication, and practical collaboration to help ideas inform action.

Our mission

Our mission is to contribute to a more peaceful, inclusive, and resilient society by supporting informed dialogue, evidence-based solutions, and the voices of communities affected by conflict and insecurity.

What we do

We work across peacebuilding and reconciliation, conflict prevention, security governance, community–law enforcement cooperation, gender, peace and security, research, policy, early warning, and strategic communications. These areas are connected: credible analysis can guide dialogue, trusted relationships can strengthen prevention, and clear communication can make useful knowledge accessible.

How we work

We begin by listening to local perspectives and understanding the context. We work with communities, civil society, practitioners, public institutions, researchers, and partners to identify priorities and develop responses that fit local needs. We combine careful analysis with practical engagement and share learning so that programmes can adapt over time.

Our principles

Our work is guided by inclusion, local ownership, evidence, accountability, respect for human rights, and responsible communication. We aim to make space for women, young people, and groups whose experiences are often underrepresented in decisions about peace and security.

Working together

Partnership helps connect community experience with research, policy, and practice. We welcome opportunities to learn with organisations and people working toward peace, safety, and resilience. Explore Our Work and Expertise, or visit Contact to start a conversation.
